Attorney at law
Marlies is an associate attorney-at-law of Arnold & Siedsma. She is specialised in intellectual property law in the broadest sense of the term. She assists both national and international clients, from advisory work to litigation in complex cross-border issues. Her work also comprises drafting and negotiatiing agreements related to intellectual property rights (licence agreements, settlements, NDAs etc.). Marlies has a special focus on the protection and enforcements of trade secrets and Customs Enforcement.
Marlies joined the firm’s section of IP attorneys-at-law in 2008 after she completed her master’s degree in intellectual property rights from the University of Groningen. During her studies she studied in France for half a year. She is vice-president of the legislation committee of the Benelux Trademark and Design Associations and member of the Pharmaceutical Trademark Group (PTMG). She regularly attends FIPE-meetings (Female Intellectual Property Experts).
Marlies and the patent and trademark attorneys together make up a good team with complementary strengths. She likes to dive into a case and provide pragmatic and tailored solutions for her clients.
