Steve has extensive experience in international patent disputes and in the drafting of freedom-to-operate assessments. He has expert knowledge of the differences between European and American patent law. His British nationality is an advantage in European proceedings.
Steve studied chemistry at London University, specialising in organic chemistry. He has been working at Arnold & Siedsma since 1993, running the Munich office. His work is primarily concerned with proceedings and oppositions at the European Patent Office in the fields of pharmaceuticals, general chemistry, petrochemicals and diagnostic medical equipment.
Steve enjoys working closely with the client. If a conflicting patent is identified, opposition proceedings can be instigated at the European Patent Office. Together with the client, he tries to establish the best position in relation to the competitor. From experience, this working method appears to be highly successful. A working method of this type is highly effective for quickly achieving positive results.
